About Me

Humm what to say about me.... Well I work for a company named BJ Services Company Canada. It is an oil and gas well servicing company. Which bascially means that we help get the oil and gas out of the wells once they are drilled. I run what is called an Nitrogen pumper, we take liquid Nitrogen and through a triplex pump (meaning three pistons) and either a glycol (anti-freeze) heat system or through a direct fired system heat the Nitrogen until it is a gas. It is then pumped downhole to help get anything from fluid, to sand out and the end result is that the well will flow better and yield more.

 

This means I get to drive a tractor-trailer unit around the province of Alberta, British Columbia and even Saskatchewan. Most of the time it is a Kenworth sometimes if I am unlucky it is a Western Star, which I do not like. But hey it is a job and I like doing it, I get paid to travel and make good money doing such ;).

 

You can find pictures of me working in the photogallery, I will try and keep only the intersting ones there. As I have been known to take pictures that make people wonder what I was doing. In the end most of the pictures end up being of the landscape as I am sent in to remote parts of the provinces to work. It is a nice chance to see what Alberta and the other provinces have to offer.

 

What else...I also have an avid love of computers and technolgy in general. This some say will lead to my death as I seem to have a lot of impulse buy's in my inventroy. All I can say is you can not take your money with you when you die so might as well do something with it like buy toys! :).

 

At this point in time I own one laptop, and something like 5 computers which all do work heh, and then two cameras. Once which is a Canon PowerShot A400 point and shoot which I had won at the company break-up party last year in 2005. And most recently just purchased a Canon 350D ditial SLR camera, which has been making me happy (the above photo was taken with it).

 

I also have quite the love for creating and developing web pages, I have been doing it since roughly 1997 and really should be doing it for a living but have not got off my ass of yet to start doing it full time. Many people think I am crazy to only keep doing it on the side here and there, and in the end yes I am pretty crazy as I can make the same money for less work doing web development over pumping Nitrogen.
